Havercroft Skills Centre

Creche

Havercroft and Ryhill Community Learning Centre crèche is registered with OFSTED Early Years.  We were last inspected in February 2009 and May 2006 previously.  This was an unannounced visit.  The creche was graded by OFSTED as providing a 'good' standard of care.  This OFSTED report is available at the Centre on request or you can access it online at the OFSTED website www.ofsted.gov.uk.  All previous inspection reports are available to view.

From September 2008 the creche began to deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We care for children from 3 months to their 5th birthday and are able to care for up to eight children per session.

We are open term time only from 9.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday and the occasional Friday morning.  We offer sessional care and close for a minimum of 30 minutes at lunchtime.  The Crèche Leader and Deputy Leader are both qualified nursery nurses and both have many years child care experience, and have children of their own.  Other members of the crèche team are also qualified to level 2 and level 3.   All staff at the Centre have current CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checks in place.

We provide sessions for the children of parents and guardians who are attending a course at the Centre or a course organised by the Centre and takes place in Havercroft, Ryhill or South Hiendley.  We also provide time for you sessions for people who are not attending a course.  Details of times and charges for using the creche including the time for you sessions can be obtained by contacting the Centre.

We work to provide a welcoming and high standard of crèche facilities and a happy caring and stimulating environment for all children who attend.  We provide a wide range of structured play and learning activities for all children within our care.  Each session consists of free play, activity time, snack time, structured time, tidy up time, story and singing time.

The crèche has an equal opportunities policy where all children are treated as individuals regardless of religion, race or and culture.  Through the various activities we provide a positive image of today's society, including multicultural and equal opportunity roles and aim to cover activities for all major celebrations and festivals around the world.

We feel that we give the children who attend our crèche a good start to their future learning and communication skills, for when they start school, and that they will take with them throughout life.

To check on the availability of places please contact the Centre Reception.  There are a limited number of places available.  All parents/guardians must complete a registration form on behalf of any child that will attend the crèche.
